COVID-19 POLICY

2022 BIG EARS FESTIVAL COVID-19 POLICY
COVID POLICY UPDATE: The health and safety of everyone who attends Big Ears is our number one priority. A new law passed by the Tennessee State Legislature requires us to accept a negative COVID test as an alternative to verification of full vaccination status. To comply with this legislation, we have been compelled to amend our entrance policy.
All Big Ears attendees are required to be present, show photo ID, and provide one of the following at festival check-in to receive their festival wristband:
• Proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination, authorized in the United States or recognized by the World Health Organization, at least 14 days prior to check in at the festival. To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have received your second dose in a 2-dose series or a single-dose vaccine on or before Wednesday, March 9, 2022. We strongly recommend that everyone eligible get a booster shot prior to attending the festival.
OR
• Proof of a negative PCR test for COVID-19 within 48 hours of check-in at the festival. Negative test results must be from a test administered by a licensed healthcare facility. We will not accept at-home tests or lab administered Antigen (rapid) tests. We reserve the right to amend this policy to require daily negative tests for any non-vaccinated attendees.
We are fortunate that our region—and the country—has experienced a dramatic decline in Covid-19 infections in the past few weeks, and numbers continue to improve daily. CDC guidelines now have Knox County in a LOW risk category, with guidance that mask-wearing be optional. While we strongly recommend that you wear masks indoors at Big Ears, it will not be required for members of the audience.
We reserve the right to require that everyone wear masks for specific presentations, whether at the request of an artist or simply out of prudence. Please come prepared to mask in these instances.
