Pilot Light
In Place is a quartet creating embodied freely improvised music based out of Nashville. The trio of Jayve Montgomery (woodwinds), Randy Hunt (bass) and John Westberry (drums) had been playing together for a year when times changed.
In April 2020 Scott Mattingly (guitar) and Montgomery used the emotions of the early pandemic to work on a remote project recorded in quarantined homes, closets, parks, and cars titled, Half Life, released on cassette by FPE Records.In fall 2020, the four joined forces under the carport of Westberry and coined the In Place moniker to bring you new sounds from Outer Music City.
