Natural BLK Invention
While George Nsapo’s musical history stretches back to early childhood, his artistic path took a decisive turn when he began experimenting with samplers and discovering new music while working at a record store in Johnson City, Tennessee. Falling in with the local art/ improv/ noise scene, Nsapo found an outlet for these new musical directions and began playing live. As his experience in electronic music grew he began to drift away from improv, seeking more compositional control, and began incorporating modular and computer based synthesizers.
He developed a deep interest in the influence disco had on early electronic music (from Paradise Garage into early Chicago house/Detroit techno) leading to an obsessive immersion into history and artists from these genres. This creative path culminated as Natural BLK Invention, an amalgamation of cultural ideas communicated through electronic sound. House, techno, and breakcore music infused with elements from funk/jazz records, 90s anime, RPGs, and other media creating a live, synesthetic experience.
