Tim Gick
Tim Gick uses a rhizomatic approach to upturn the sounds and processes of traditional instrumentation, prepared objects, found sounds, and field recordings fed and manipulated through tape, electronic processing, and samplers.
From 2017 as part of the Lafayette, IN / Richmond, VA collective Crazy Doberman, he edited, mixed, and arranged large-scale improvisation sessions into wieldy compositions and 22 dynamic albums. Tim Gick brings this experience into his solo performances and recordings to create a singular sound experience for his audience. His solo work ranges from incursions in purely acoustic explorations (Não Há Laranja, Working Man Lay Down, 2020) to intricate electronic compositions (Body Without Organs, No Rent, 2023) and everything in between (the water flows along where the glass might crack…, Industrial Coast, 2022).
