Two-Way Street
Described by The Wire as having “… tone so pure it is almost a sine wave,” Two-Way Street is the duo of percussionist Adam Lion and cellist Ashlee Booth. Based in Asheville, the duo performs experimental music that explores the possibilities of acoustic performance and the perception of sound in a shared space.
Their 2020 album with composer Sarah Hennies, The Reinvention of Romance, was released through the Astral Spirits label and has been featured in Pitchfork, The New York Times, and Artforum Magazine. Most recently the duo was in residence with NYU composer collective ‘nevermind the noise’, which resulted in five new works premiered at the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center in Asheville.
