Peter Evans — performing with Evan Parker in Rocket Science and the Electro-Acoustic Ensemble — is perhaps the leading musician of his generation to build and expand upon Evan Parker’s legacy. His trumpet virtuosity is astonishing.

It’s hard not to be in awe of the sheer physicality of his performance, but the real treat is the sonic world Evans creates, a wall of noise, wailing, hiccups, dark rhythm and sounds that call forth every human emotion.

Peter will perform two of his own concerts at Big Ears, in addition to those with Evan Parker: The Peter Evans Ensemble brings together an outstanding group of players to showcase Evans’ brilliant compositional structures…and Mr. Evans will also treat us to one of his superhuman SOLO performances.
