12-Hour Drone Details and Schedule Revealed

Prepare for a transcendent evening of sustained sound exploration at 12-Hour Drone: All Night Flight, an immersive new experience featuring 19 genre-defying artists across two stages at The Standard from midnight on Saturday to noon on Sunday during the festival weekend. Experimenting with continuous tones and repetition through vocals or instrumentation, artists and listeners alike will be transported to a meditative space pushing the boundaries of time, genre, and music itself.
A nod to pioneering minimalist composer Terry Riley’s project by the same name, All Night Flight will feature performances by 2018 Big Ears artists including prodigious guitarist and singer-songwriter Steve Gunn, exquisite multi-instrumentalist Anna RG of Anna & Elizabeth, SUUNS vocalist/guitarist Ben Shemie and guitarist/bassist Joseph Yarmush, and more. Festival alums Jessica Moss of Silver Mt. Zion and David Daniell will return to Big Ears with their improvisational magic. Performing exclusively at All Night Flight will be electroacoustic percussionist B|_ank, psychedelic multi-instrumentalist Walsh, Kraut rock-inspired artist Eve Maret, ambient creative organization Coupler, among many others.
