The mission of Big Ears is to collaborate with artists, audiences, and communities to create joyful, meaningful, and transcendent cultural experiences that defy boundaries, fuel curiosity, ignite the spirit, and nourish the soul. The Big Ears Festival is the flagship event of the organization.

Toggle FAQ Item What is your Covid policy?

COVID Policy Update: The health and safety of everyone who attends Big Ears is our number one priority.  A new law passed by the Tennessee State Legislature requires us to accept a negative COVID test as an alternative to verification of full vaccination status. To comply with this legislation, we have been compelled to amend our entrance policy.

All Big Ears attendees are required to be present, show photo ID, and provide one of the following at festival check-in to receive their festival wristband:

• Proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination, authorized in the United States or recognized by the World Health Organization, at least 14 days prior to check in at the festival. To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have received your second dose in a 2-dose series or a single-dose vaccine on or before Wednesday, March 9, 2022. We strongly recommend that everyone eligible get a booster shot prior to attending the festival.

OR

• Proof of a negative PCR test for COVID-19 within 48 hours of check-in at the festival. Negative test results must be from a test administered by a licensed healthcare facility. We will not accept at-home tests or lab administered Antigen (rapid) tests. We reserve the right to amend this policy to require daily negative tests for any non-vaccinated attendees.

Given the situation at present (early January 2022), all attendees, regardless of vaccination status, should anticipate being required to wear masks at all indoor venues, per CDC guidelines, except when actively eating or drinking.

Entry requirements and venue protocols are subject to change.

We are committed to implementing all protocols necessary to make Big Ears a safe and fun experience for all.

Toggle FAQ Item Is it ok to buy from a third party?

We highly discourage the purchase of wristbands from a third party. Only wristbands purchased through the Big Ears Festival website and it’s official ticketing provider, Front Gate Tickets, or via the festival’s official ticket exchange are guaranteed to be authentic. If you want 100% confidence in your ticket purchase, you should only purchase your tickets through the links on our tickets page.

Big Ears box office will verify that only those who purchased tickets are able to claim them at the festival box office.

Big Ears is not responsible for any counterfit passes.

For you own protection, please do not purchase passes from any source other than bigearsfestival.org, Front Gate Tickets, or the Lyte ticketing exchange platform.

Removing a wristband automatically voides it (unless by accident or for safety reasons, in which case you will need to get a replacement wristband from the festival’s box office (this will require you to prove your purchase information). Festival security will check every wristband to ensure it has not been removed or passed between multiple people.
