Artist Addition: Ikue Mori

Drummer, composer, and graphic designer Ikue Mori of Tokyo started playing drums in the seventies, which soon led to the formation of seminal no wave band DNA with fellow noise pioneer Arto Lindsay. Since the 1990s, she has collaborated with numerous improvisors all over the world, while continuing to produce and record her own music. A Big Ears alum, Ikue previously joined us with Phantom Orchard and as a solo performer. Her latest projects include Obelisk, a debut album with Sylvie Courvoisier, Jim Black, and Big Ears cellist Okkyung Lee, and Highsmith, her stunning duo project with Big Ears pianist Craig Taborn.
