BIG EARS ARTISTS MAKE A SPLASH AT AMERICANA MUSIC AWARDS
Last Wednesday night, the Americana music community gathered at the Mother Church of Country Music, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, to celebrate their own at the 21st Annual Americana Music Awards.
Allison Russell‘s 2021 debut Outside Child won Album of the Year, in a category that also included Adia Victoria‘s A Southern Gothic among the nominees. “Music saved me, music saves me every day,” Russell said in a tearful acceptance speech. Her track “Persephone” was also nominated for Song of the Year.
On the heels of her critically acclaimed new album Long Time Coming, Sierra Ferrell received the 2022 Emerging Act of the Year Award, a category in which Victoria was also nominated. Los Lobos also made the list of nominees for Duo/Group of the Year.
A hearty congratulations to a fantastic group of artists. We look forward to welcoming them to Knoxville for Big Ears 2023!
