Ryley Walker is a proud Big Ears veteran, having played here in 2015. This year, Walker released two fantastic records, Deafman Glance and, surprisingly, a full-length cover of the Dave Matthews Band’s lost album, The Lillywhite Sessions. Walker treats the project as a personal musical map, turning a childhood fascination into songs that suggest things he grew to love, from Albert Ayler and The Sea and Cake to graceful ballads and monstrous drone. Yesterday, Matthews co-signed the record—an adolescent dream come true. Congrats, Ryley!
