BE 2026

Carlos Niño, Surya Botofasina, Aaron Shaw (Trio)

Thu   Mar   26   2026 - 10:45 PM First Presbyterian Sanctuary

Carlos Niño, Surya Botofasina, and Aaron Shaw come together as a trio rooted in deep listening, shared lineage, and expansive musical conversation. Niño—an influential producer, percussionist, and connective force behind projects like Carlos Niño & Friends and André 3000’s New Blue Sun—brings a practice he describes as spiritual, improvisational “space collage,” guided by intention, vibration, and openness. Botofasina, raised within the orbit of Alice Coltrane and shaped by everything from Sanskrit chanting to classic hip-hop, approaches music as a living expression of OneLove, carrying West Coast spirit wherever he plays. Shaw, one of Los Angeles’s most vital young multi-instrumentalists and composers, adds a lyrical, searching voice informed by jazz, experimental music, and lived experience. Together, the trio creates music that is fluid, reverent, and alive to the moment—an unfolding dialogue of sound, breath, and collective presence.
