eucademix (Yuka Honda)

eucademix is the moniker used by Yuka Honda for her solo electronics project. Yuka is a founder of the band Cibo Matto and is an accomplished electronic instrumentalist, composer, and producer. She has a deep fascination with microorganisms and humorously refers to herself as a “de-composer.” Yuka’s music spans various genres, which she collectively terms “sensory music.” Recently, she released her EP Farm Psychedelia on Bandcamp. As a producer, Yuka has collaborated with notable artists such as Cibo Matto, Sean Lennon, and Martha Wainwright. She also created a multimedia opera titled “No Revenge Necessary,” exploring a post-apocalyptic world where humans coexist with AI entities. This opera was performed at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY, in 2019, during her residency as an artist. Yuka has received several accolades, including the Best Sound Award at the London International Animation Festival for her composition in Yoriko Mizushiri’s animated film Anxious Body, which premiered at Cannes 2021 Directors’ Fortnight.
