Laurie Anderson & Sexmob: Let x=x
“Backed by jazz-rocking wild cards – [Anderson] zapped the audience back her beginnings as arguably America’s most popular avant-garde performer.” – Relix
In her latest musical endeavor, Let X = X, Anderson joins forces with visionary jazz quartet Sexmob to put a modern day spin on old and new songs, from her first album Big Science to the present. In addition to her intriguing voice, with which she both sings and tells stories, Anderson uses electronics and plays the violin against Sex Mob’s inventive, new arrangements. The New York-based band Sexmob, led by Steven Bernstein (horns), also includes: Briggan Krauss (saxophone, guitar), Tony Scherr (bass), Kenny Wollesen (percussion) and Doug Wieselman (guitar and woodwinds).
