“The best band of the 90s.” – The A.V. Club

Radio silent for two decades, Unwound is back. The American hardcore post-punk band formed in 1991 and operated as a trio consisting of Sarah Lund, Justine Trosper, and Vern Rumsey. Over the course of ten years Unwound released seven albums, including their debut, Fake Train, and the albums that put them on the map, Repetition (1996) and Challenge for Civilized Society (1998), which saw the band experiment with their sound beyond noise rock. Their final album Leaves Turn Inside You was released in 2001. Unwound disbanded just a year later, with the band members all embarking on various side projects. In July 2022, Trosper and Lund reformed Unwound for a 2023 tour in memory of Vern Rumsey, their original bassist, with Jared Warren filling in on bass and Scott Seckington on guitar. The newly reconfigured lineup includes original members Trosper and Lund, with the addition of Karp bassist Jared Warren and keyboardist/guitarist Scott Seckington, who collaborated with the founding Unwound members in the band Nocturnal Habits.
