It’s no shock that Zsela was bound for creativity — she comes from a creative family. Her father is Marc Anthony Thompson of funk rock collective Chocolate Genius, Inc., while her sister is actress Tessa Thompson. Zsela began singing at a young age, but it’s been only recently that she’s taken a step from being a muse of New York’s fashion scene to fully focus on music. She released her debut EP, Ache of Victory, in 2020, a five-track release that relies on sparse arrangements centered around Zsela’s exquisite vocal delivery. She released her second EP in 2021, AOV (Remixes) <3.
