Next Streaming Event: SAUVE Curated By Arooj Aftab
For our next collaborative streaming event, Big Ears is teaming with Joe’s Pub, NYC’s esteemed club venue at The Public Theatre.
Pakistani vocalist / composer Arooj Aftab was slated to debut her all-star Vulture Prince Ensemble at Big Ears this past March. While we continue to wait for that Big Ears debut, we’re delighted to offer, SAUVE (South Asian Union Voltage Experiment), an online festival experience — curated by Arooj— and showcasing collaborative and experimental new electronic, modular, synth-wave, and dream-scape work.
Featuring musicians of South Asian heritage and non, SAUVE is a multi-artist evening of performance that nods to the ancestral musical qualities of South Asia, while maintaining a modern-day modular synthesis. Set to a backdrop of the new-music, neo-classical New York scene, SAUVE is a celebration of the musical journeys of the artists involved, past and here to come.
Lineup for SAUVE includes:
Arooj Aftab, Arushi/Modular Princess, Jace Clayton, Ganavya Doraiswamy, Charlotte Greve, Kenji Herbert, iT Boy, Qasim Naqvi, Natasha Noorani, Talal Qureshi, SlowSpin, Rajna Swaminathan, Darian Thomas, VANDANA, Yusuke Yamamoto, and more.
The program is free and will stream next Wednesday, September 9, starting at 8 pm (EDT). The programs lasts two and a half hours. You can find the stream on Wednesday evening by following THIS LINK.
