Celebrating Terry Riley at 90
Today, we celebrate the 90th birthday of the legendary composer Terry Riley, an artist whose influence on modern music is nothing short of profound. From In C to A Rainbow in Curved Air, Riley’s groundbreaking work helped shape minimalism and left an indelible mark on generations of musicians across genres. Big Ears had the honor of celebrating both his 75th and 80th birthdays at our 2010 and 2015 festivals, and we join the world in saluting this visionary on his milestone year.
