Do you know about the film Wunder der Schöpfung, or Our Heavenly Bodies? In 1925, German filmmaker Hanns Walter Kornblum had a vision to not only capture what we already knew about the universe in a movie but to boldly suggest what we might learn. Given the primitive technology and limited science he had to work with, the results are remarkable and are even said to have inspired Stanley Kubrick. And at Big Ears 2019, Coupler plays along to Yasujirō Ozu’s Dragnet Girl.
