Artist Addition: Cleek Schrey Solo

Virginia-born Cleek Schrey is one of the world’s few players of the stunning hardanger d’amore, a uniquely-designed violin with five strings that creates a rich resonance of pure beauty and depth, favored by early music and folk composers alongside some of the fierce innovators of contemporary classical music of the 21st century. Playing traditional mountain Appalachian songs from his native Virginia alongside improvisational techniques, his performances have the power to transport the imagination across time and space. In addition to his solo performance, Schrey will play in a duo with legendary electronic and computer music pioneer, David Behrman.
