Best of 2016: Cellist Oliver Coates

Proclaimed Radiohead’s ‘secret weapon’ for his contributions to their wonderful 2016 release, A Moon Shaped Pool, cellist Oliver Coates had an amazing year in his own right.

His solo record, Upstepping, with its irresistible nod to the legacy of Arthur Russell, was another 2016 highlight. As if that wasn’t enough, his wonderful collaboration with Mica Levi, Remain Calm, released late the year, had ears buzzing with delight as well.
