Collaborators for over two decades now, Eyvind Kang and Jessika Kenney make music that combines their shared study of land and place, sonic resonances, and transcultural conversations. A composer, vocalist, and educator, Kenney is known for her unique vocal practice, a blend of a sense and sound. She was the singer for punk bands Cause and Ex Nihilo, and later for ASVA. Her compositions include the vocal music for the film Midsommar. Kang, a violist and composer, has over a dozen solo records to his name and has worked with a wide range of musicians including Bill Frisell, Laurie Anderson, Secret Chiefs 3, and many others. Their newest record, Azure, will be released in 2023.
