First 2019 Artists Announced!  

Big Ears 2019 welcomes Berlin-based pianist and composer Nils Frahm, incomparable guitarist Mary Halvoroson with her band Code Girl,  renown artist, sculptor and musician Lonnie Holley, composer Rachel Grimes presenting her folk opera and experimental film “The Way Forth,”  powerhouse trio The Messthetics featuring the rhythm section of Fugazi, Chicago-based free jazz collective Irreversible Entanglements,  and South African master guitarist Derek Gripper.  This is the first in a series of artist announcements throughout the summer and fall, with the next coming in just a couple of weeks….
