Jonathan Demme Double Feature: STOP MAKING SENSE and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE + THE TENNESSEE KIDS

Cinema giant Jonathan Demme has a vision as generous, unified, and protean as any American filmmaker of the last forty years. Big Ears is especially excited to welcome Demme for a double-feature of his celebrated Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense and, aside from its premiere, the only theatrical screening of 2016’s widely praised Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids at the historic Tennessee Theatre.

Universally acclaimed as one of the best concert films ever made, Demme’s extraordinary (and first feature-length) documentary Stop Making Sense captures the groundbreaking Talking Heads in performance at their peak.

A Netflix Original Film and exclusive, Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids captures what made the beloved musician’s world tour soar: gifted musicians, deft dancers, and a magnetic star.

The double-feature is part of a carefully-curated ten-film retrospective, Jonathan Demme: Life is Performance / Performance is Life. We are so looking forward to this cinematic treat.
