It’s wonderful to see Knoxville on CNN‘s list of best towns to visit in the USA and for so many of our own favorite reasons: the Tennessee Theatre, the Bijou Theatre, J.C. Holdway, Cruze Farm Ice Cream and Dairy, Ijams Nature Center, Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness, and the Historic Market Square Farmer’s Market just a few among them. Of course, we also love the shout-out to Big Ears as “undeniably Knoxville’s biggest music coup.”

In the latest episode of Tennessee Theatre’s Pass the Mic series, the theatre dives into the heart of the 2024 Big Ears Festival. The first of five special Big Ears centric episodes features a conversation with the festival’s Executive and Artistic Director, Ashley Capps, and Development Director, Casey Fox. They share the philosophy behind Big Ears, challenges faced, hopes for the future, and intentions for impacting the Knoxville community.
