LISTEN: Avey Tare’s ‘Taken Boy’
It seems that a little time in Western North Carolina served Animal Collective’s Avey Tare well, as we’re now officially smitten with the first two tracks from his imminent Cows on Hourglass Pond. A gently unfurling pop song of piano, noise, and cooed vocals, “Taken Boy” is about finding a sense of belonging or at least looking for it, of being warmly embraced by domesticity.
