One of our favorite albums of 2018 is also one of the most challenging we’ve heard: On Uncharted Territories, Dave Holland, Ches Smith, Craig Taborn, and Evan Parker went the distance, recording six hours of fierce and sophisticated improvisations that simmer and explode and gallop and groan.
