Last week, concert industry publication Pollstar dug into two things we love about what we do in one story: the music at Big Ears 2019, and our symbiosis with our beloved hometown of Knoxville. Writer Glenn Peoples calls it “perhaps the country’s least-expected gathering of out-of-the-mainstream, experimental and avant-garde music” before digging into the ways we help generate revenue for our city and the city provides a welcoming hub for us. “I like to say that we bring the world to Knoxville, but we showcase Knoxville to the world,” our founder, Ashley Capps, tells them.
