Gavin Bryars’ THE SINKING OF THE TITANIC
In a recent interview, Brian Eno said that he formed his record label in the mid-1970s in order to release Gavin Bryars’ classic piece. We get it. It’s a remarkably powerful, enigmatic work.
We’re especially excited to be staging the US premiere performances of Bryars’ latest reimagining of The Sinking of the Titanic with his own ensemble, joined by turntable wizard Philip Jeck, and powerful archival film footage and visuals created by Bill Morrison and Laurie Olinder.
Just one facet of Bryars’ wonderful work that will be performed at Big Ears, this is sure to be an unforgettable experience. Preview it here.
