Early last year, Avey Tare spent some time in Asheville, N.C., just a few hours across the Blue Ridge Mountains in Knoxville, recording new material that he’s set to release March 22 as the new album, Cows on Hourglass Pond. We love the domestic ease of its first single, “Saturdays (Again), a drifting acoustic jangle laced with electric arpeggios, seesawing bass, and springing rhythms. Avey Tare returns to the area in just more than a month, making his first appearance at Big Ears 2019.
