Watch: Bill Frisell Plays “Rambler”

Here’s something Bill Frisell said about his spectacular 2018 album, Music IS: “Playing solo is always a challenge.” How, then, do these 16 tracks sound so effortless and graceful, as if Bill awoke one morning, made a pot of coffee, and worked his way through solo takes of highlights from his catalog before lunch? It’s a beautiful and brilliant record, and here’s a little glimpse of “Rambler,” originally recorded for his second ECM album.
