Watch: Bill Frisell & Thomas Morgan Play Paste Studios

In August 2017, months after their debut release as a duo, guitarist Bill Frisell and bassist Thomas Morgan stopped by the Paste Studios in New York to play a half-dozen songs and talk about their chemistry. It’s fascinating to watch them struggle to articulate their relationship and shared philosophy, then watch them slide right into seemingly effortless instrumental synergy as soon as they start to perform. As he always does, Frisell talks a lot about how he “struggles” with these songs, but, from where we sit, he and Morgan simply charm with them. See this duo at Big Ears 2019.
