WATCH: Carolina Eyck and Clarice Jensen’s Tiny Desk Concert

We love the fact that NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts embrace so many different musical forms, from recent performances by the Wu-Tang Clan and even Amy Grant to the new duo performance by two daring instrumentalists, Carolina Eyck and Clarice Jensen. Eyck is reintroducing the theremin to classical and experimental realms, her sense of wonder and subtle articulation making it more than an anachronistic novelty. Jensen, meanwhile, made one of last year’s most hypnotic records, For This From That Will be Filled, a spellbinding span of cello immersion. At NPR, they each play a piece of their own, then team up for the perfectly tense “Frequencies.” See Jensen at Big Ears 2019.
