Given the record lows that have descended in recent days on large parts of the country, a song called “Cold Air”—from the terrific singing-songwriting tandem of Kieran Kane and Rayna Gellert—seems appropriate. Kane has spent a lifetime climbing the country music charts and running a label, Dead Reckoning, that helped power the Americana explosion. Gellert is a member of the revolutionary string quartet Uncle Earl who makes her own beautiful records, too. See them together at Big Ears 2019. Maybe it’ll be less cold come March in Knoxville?
