A SPECIAL ESSENTIAL TREMORS: WEDNESDAY AT THE PILOT LIGHT

Legendary producer, label head, and author Joe Boyd will be our very special guest at the next Selector Series. Joe founded the label Hannibal Records and has advocated for music across the global spectrum but is probably best-known as a producer for artists including Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention, R.E.M., and Nick Drake’s first two albums, among many others. He’s also the author of a memoir, White Bicycles, and the recent And the Roots of Rhythm Remain, a personal history of what we sometimes think of as “world music.”

His most successful artworks have been his word paintings, which feature oversized, three-dimensional text painstakingly integrated into vintage landscape reproductions. The message of the paintings is often thought-provoking and almost always humorous, with White commenting on vanity, ego and his memories of the South

The Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust exhibition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a deeply moving display of history, music, and resilience. This exhibition tells the stories of the Jewish musicians and their violins that survived the Holocaust. Restored and preserved, these instruments now serve as powerful symbols of hope and survival
Sad to Say, Some Cancellations
We are deeply disappointed to report that, due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, the Tara Clerkin Trio and Tucker Zimmerman have had to cancel their tours and their scheduled Big Ears appearances. Previously, Bill Ryder-Jones and One Leg One Eye have also had to cancel their plans as well.
We wish each of them the very best and hope that they may join us at Big Ears in the near future.
