We’re excited to present the next wave of artist announcements for the 2019 festival to you today, with more to come soon and throughout the summer. With Nils Frahm, Mary Halvorson, Lonnie Holley, Rachel Grimes, The Messthetics, Irreversible Entanglements and Derek Gripper already announced, Big Ears 2019 is proud to welcome Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor with Brooklyn Rider, electronic sound explorer Jlin, jazz master Matt Wilson’s Honey & Salt, the extraordinary cellist Clarice Jenson’s collaboration with visual artist Jonathan Turner, Rafiq Bhatia’s Breaking English, and Coupler’s live score for the film, Dragnet Girl.
